I grew up in the Northeast, romping around the Berkshires, Greens, and Adirondacks. I started skiing when I was six, picked up backpacking, climbing, and canoeing in college, and after moving to the Pacific Northwest and determining I didn’t have enough expensive hobbies I added biking, running, and fishing. My biggest passions are ski touring, alpine climbing, and big backpacking trips (I’ve completed the Long Trail, John Muir Trail, Wonderland Trail, Timberline Trail, and hiked the Olympic Coast).

I spent 10 years working outdoor retail between Eastern Mountain Sports, REI, Arc’teryx/Salomon, and KAVU before starting with The Alta Group. I love my role and being able to spend time working with our retailers, brands, and consumers to inspired and educate folks. I’m genuinely proud of the brands that we represent for both their dedication to quality and their environmental initiatives. Every day is a new opportunity and I’m stoked to get after it!

Justin: Yo Scott, what did the Sierra Mountain Guide trip report say on their last update?

Me: Looks like the ice is forming and hike is filled in and packed down so no need for show shoes… but a weird warming trend coming through…
